Competition Time

The Competition:
To encourage markets and traders to become more environmentally friendly we are setting a competition to find both the greenest market and greenest trader.
The amount of publicity surrounding these issues at the moment is huge, meaning entering would almost certainly bring in more customers, and could even widen your consumer base. This campaign will be judged in collaboration with Friends of the Earth and as such would be of credit to every applicant. And even if you don't win this year you may win Most Improved Market next year. Click here to download an information pack.

The Regions:
There will be one winning market for each of the following regions and then an overall winner.

North

Midlands

South

The Winning Categories:
National Greenest Market 2011
Most Improved Market 2011
Regional Greenest Markets 2011
Greenest Market Trader 2011
There will be 12 awards in total and even if your market doesn't win this year it may win most improved market next year.

How to enter

To enter you must register online (although you will be able to send your information to us by post if you wish). To register click here.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN REGISTER AT ANY TIME AND YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE VALID PROVIDED WE RECEIVE YOUR MATERIAL BY THE DEADLINE OF OCTOBER 16th. Alternatively you can supply all the information when you enter.

If you are an individual trader who feels your market should be in the How Green Is Your Market? competition you should pass all information on to your market operator to encourage them to enter. As traders you can nominate the trader you think is the most environmentally aware by entering him or her into the Greenest Trader competition. If you wish you can enter yourself.
