The Competition:
To encourage markets and traders to become more environmentally friendly we are setting a competition to find both the greenest market and greenest trader. There will be 11 awards in total and we plan to present them at a parliamentary reception. The amount of publicity surrounding these issues at the moment is huge, meaning entering would almost certainly bring in more customers, and could even widen your consumer base. This campaign will be judged in collaboration with Friends of the Earth and as such would be of credit to every applicant. And even if you don't win this year you may win 'Most Improved Market' next year. An application pack will be available to download from this site at the end of February.

How to enter and a few tips:
There are a number of ways to enter - please note some are greener than others. We suggest you use those that are electronic. Simply click on the link below and follow the instructions. Please read the competition information packs prior to filling in your entry form. If you are an individual trader who feels your market should be in the How green is your market? competition you should pass all information on to your market operator to encourage them to enter. As traders you can nominate the trader you think is the most environmentally aware by entering him or her into the Greenest trader competition. If you wish you can enter yourself.
